The project comprised the development of Phase I industrial area on approximately 250 Ha reclaimed land. The works included all infrastructures as detailed below:
• Site clearance.
• Earthworks including 204,000 cu.m excavation and 288,000 cu.m backfilling.
• 360,000 sq.m of asphalt paving
• 101,000 sq.m of concrete sidewalks
• 25,510 km of roads including parking and fencing
• Landscape and hardscape including parking sheds
• 36 km of Storm drainage system including construction of 266 manholes, 1,836 road gullies, 13 lifting pumping stations and 5 outfalls.
• 25 km of Blended water distribution system including installation of pipes, 234 fire hydrants and 270 valves.
• 3 km of irrigation system
• 18 km of Sanitary sewer system including installation of pipes and construction of 269 manholes and 10 lifting pumping stations.
• Road lighting including laying of 36,000 Lm of cables and erection of 704 light poles
• 60 km of Electrical distribution system including installation of HV and LV cables and construction of 13 substations.
• 32 km of Telecom distribution system including installation of ducts and 322 JRC boxes
• Construction of 427 sq.m floor area one storey building Water Pumping Station housing 3 sets of Fire Pumps with capacity each of 3000 GPM @ 173 ft head and 2 sets of Domestic Pumps with capacity each of 950 GPM @ 180 ft head including ventilation and air conditioning system, fire alarm system, instrumentation and controls and small power and lighting.
• Construction of 4.500 cu.m capacity Ground Reservoir
• Construction of 1 MG, 52m height Elevated Water Tank
• Construction of guard houses for both Water Distribution System and Sewage Treatment Plant System complexes.
• Construction of Blower building.
• Construction of 2,325 cu.m/day capacity Sewage Treatment Plant.
• Construction of Operation and Maintenance Building.
Complexity:
The whole project itself was complex due to installation of different utilities/services have to be well coordinated and planned. Construction of the Sanitary Sewer and Storm Drainage Pumping Stations and Outfalls involved dewatering works as the site is on reclaimed area very next to the sea and ground water was a bit shallow.
